Meghalaya Umbrella Scholarship:- Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Meghalaya, Shillong invites online applications for the “Umbrella Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe Students – Pre and Post Matric Scholarship” in the prescribed format from the students who are permanent residents in the state of Meghalaya studying within and outside the State for the year 2019-20.
Eligibility Conditions for Umbrella Scholarship
1. Umbrella Pre Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe Students
Classes IX and Class X in recognized schools/institutes whose Institute Nodal Officers are registered in National Scholarship Portal, NSP 2.0. The annual income of parents from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2.00 Lakhs p.a.
2. Umbrella Post Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe Students
Students who are pursuing higher studies in different courses from Classes XI to Post Graduation in recognized Colleges/ institutes whose Institute Nodal Officers are registered in NSP 2.0. The annual income of parents from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2.50 Lakhs p.a.
How to apply for Meghalaya Umbrella Scholarship
Eligible applicants are to apply for scholarships via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP 2.0) for the academic year 2019-20 on website www.scholarships.gov.in-> State Schemes-> Meghalaya and click Apply to fill up the Pre and Post Matric Scholarship Application Form.

Important Dates
- Opening Date of Application for Registration By Students (For Fresh and Renewal):- 3rd December 2019.
- Closing date of Application Registration By Students (For Fresh and Renewal):- 15th February 2020.
- The last date for Verification of Applications by Institutes:- 25th February 2020.
This for further information of all Heads of Institutions that if the Institute Nodal Officers are not registered in NSP 2.0, institutional verification will not be possible and students will not be able to avail of the scholarships.
