Meghalaya State Quota NMMS Scholarship 2024 notification for Class VIII students. The Directorate of Educational Research & Training, (DERT) Meghalaya, Shillong invites applications from eligible Candidates for the National Means-cum- Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination for Class VIII for the year 2025 for the 231 seats, State Quota allotted by the Ministry of Education, New Delhi. The last date for submission of the application is 27th September 2024.

- Eligibility Criteria:
1. Students currently studying in Class VIII (Academic Session 2024 in State Government, Government Aided and Local Body Schools only.
2. Students should have scored at least 55% (50% for SC/ST) marks in the Class VII Promotion Examination.
3. Students studying in Kendri a Vid ala as Jawahar Navoda as Residential Schools run by the Central and State Government and students studying in Private Schools are Not Eligible for Scholarships under the Scheme.
4. Parental Annual Income from all sources should not exceed n, 50,000/-(Rupees Three Lakh Fifty Thousand) only.
5. The Scholarship is provided to the students studying as regular students in Class IX in Government, Government-Aided, and Local Body Schools which are renewed till Class XII subject to fulfillment of certain terms and conditions of the Scheme. The awardees must obtain a minimum of 60% marks in class X (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST) Examination or equivalent Examination for continuation of the Scholarship at the Higher Secondary Stage.
6. Selected Candidates will be awarded a Scholarship of Rs. 12,000 per annum by the Ministry of Education and the Selected Candidates will have to apply online through NSP, and NMMS Portal.
How to apply for the Meghalaya State Quota NMMS Scholarship 2024?
The Candidates have to submit the Application Form duly filled up in all respects along with the following Documents to the respective Sub Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO).
- Two passport size (School uniforms)
- Report Card (Class VII).
- SC/ST/ Certificates from Competent Authority
- Disability Status Certificate from Competent Authority (if any).
- Parental Income Certificate from Competent Authority.

NMMS Scholarship 2024 Exam Pattern
National Means-cum- Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination for Class VIII for the year 2025 which will be held on the 9th November 2024 (Saturday).
The Examination comprises two pavers as mentioned below:
- Paper-I: Mental Ability Test (MAT): 90 Marks
- Paper-II: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) comprising of Science, Social Science & Mathematics:
Qualifying Marks: 32% SC, ST, and PWD and 40% for General Category & OBC separately in both papers.
Selection Criteria: There will be No Negative Marking. Students must pass the Exam with an aggregate of SAT and MAT to be taken together at a minimum of 40% (32% for Sc/ST students).

Who Can’t Apply for the NMMS Scholarship 2024?
The following category of students can’t apply for the NMMS Scholarship
- Students studying in private schools appear in this scholarship exam, but they won’t be eligible for this scholarship.
- The students studying in “Kendriya Vidyalaya” and “Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas” are not entitled to get this scholarship.
- Students studying in Residential Schools run by the State Government Institutions, where facilities like boarding, lodging, and education are provided and students studying in private schools are also not eligible for the scholarship under this scheme.
