The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) and UNDP invite online applications from dynamic and creative students, who are willing to learn about natural resource management and biodiversity conservation for the Biodiversity Samrakshan Internship Programme (BSIP) 2021-2022. - Duration:- 1 Year. Starting from January 2022.
- Age limit:- Must be between 21 – 30 years.
- Stipend:- Rs. 22,500 per month.
- Educational Qualification:- Postgraduate degree and interest in natural resource management. Candidates pursuing their Postgraduate degree may also apply. However, they are required to submit a copy of their Masters’s Degree by 1 October 2021 to qualify for the internship.

Selection Procedure
She/he must give an online exam in the month of October 2021 on aspects of natural resource management – specifically pertaining to India’s National Reports (NR5 and NR6) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, SDG, and Post 2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. Based on the performance they would be shortlisted for a virtual personal interview in the month of November 2021.
Description of Tasks
- Assist in the operationalization and functioning of Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) in the States and Union Territories
- Assist BMCs in the preparation of People’s Biodiversity Registers (PBRs)
- Assist in the GOI-NBA-UNDP India Biodiversity Awards process
- Assist in the implementation of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002
Locations
Interns will be placed in NBA – Chennai, MoEFCC, and UNDP – New Delhi and the State Biodiversity Boards/UT Biodiversity Councils across the country
