Age limit
- Candidate should not be less than 18 years and not more than 32 years of age as of 1st January 2024. There is a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Community. As per the Reservation Policy of the Government of Meghalaya for Persons with Physical Disabilities (PWDs), the age is relaxable by 10 years.

Selection Procedure for DSC East Garo Hills Recruitment 2024
For Grade-III
Eligible Candidates for the Grade-Ill Post specified above will have to appear for the written test Examination in the following subjects when called for:
- PAPER-I: General English including Precis Writing, Essay Writing, and Drafting: 100 Marks
- PAPER-II: Elementary Mathematics, Elementary Science & Aptitude (30 Marks for aptitude): 100 Marks PAPER-III: General Knowledge: 70 Marks.
- PAPER-III: General Knowledge: 70 Marks
For Grade-IV
Eligible Candidates for the Grade IV Post specified above will have to appear for the Written Examination in the following subject when called for:
- PAPER-I: General Knowledge: 50 Marks
A single combined written examination will be conducted for the previously advertised remaining Post at letter No. EGH/DSC.64/2019-2020/9 Dtd. 16.09.2020 with the newly advertised post.
Application Fee
The examination fee of Rs. 100/- (Half the rate (i.e. Rs. 50/-) for ST/SC who are permanent residents of Meghalaya) shall be paid through online mode only using the following payment. The amount once deposited shall not be refunded.

- E-Challan (Cash payment)
For persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWDs), the application fee is exempted subject to the furnishing of Disability Certificates to the DSC.
